"The Rip" is a throwback to old-school 90s cop thrillers.
The Vibe: It feels gritty, sweaty, and tense. It’s not trying to be a superhero movie; it’s about greedy people making bad decisions.
Performance: The selling point is seeing Damon and Affleck together again. Their real-life friendship translates perfectly into on-screen chemistry—they argue like brothers, which makes the betrayal hit harder.
The Good: The tension in the first half is excellent. You are constantly guessing who is going to snake who. The action scenes are loud, violent, and practical (not too much CGI).
The Bad: The plot is a bit predictable. We have seen the "cops find money" story many times (Training Day, Triple Frontier). It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it rolls it very well.
